Every woman and her partner must know their chronic conditions and recognise the symptoms of sudden pregnancy complications
What to do when something goes wrong?
Every woman and her partner must know their chronic conditions and their potential impact on pregnancy, so that they can recognise the symptoms of sudden pregnancy complications.
The good news is that the majority of pregnancies run smoothly. However, a number of factors including the health of expectant parents, their lifestyles and habits, environment, stressful situations etc can affect the pregnancy and result in undesirable outcomes. Some problems can be detected and addressed at early stages and what is even more important, some of them can be prevented.
Our goal is to research the nature and the reasons for the most widespread pregnancy complications in Ukraine and to reduce their number and consequences where possible. Therefore we carry out educational projects on possible pregnancy complications, action plans in case they do occur, the necessity of regular checkups, and responsible preconception planning.
Pregnancy might be emotionally challenging for moms-to-be and their families, and stress may result in negative outcomes. Therefore, we advocate for the importance of the perinatal mental health being treated with as much care as physical health by healthcare professionals and expectant parents.
