Warm help: 1000 kits for newborn Ukrainians
27 November 2023
Between January and July 2023, 96,755 children were born in Ukraine, down 28% compared to the same period in 2021. Given the catastrophic decline in the birth rate in Ukraine, support for pregnant women and babies is becoming a priority for society.

We are convinced that every newborn deserves a warm welcome in the world, and every expectant mother deserves reliable support. Therefore, this year, the 280 Days Charitable Foundation and the Be Kind charity platform aim to repeat last year's successful Warm Help project. Our goal is to raise funds for 1,000 warming kits for newborns in Ukraine born during the war.

Each package will include cosy baby essentials - a winter envelope for a stroller, an insulated blanket, insulated clothes, a winter hat and a greeting card for mum and baby. The cost of one package is 67 EURO.

The aid will be targeted at pregnant women living in the frontline areas or those most affected by Russian aggression, including Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions. Pregnant women who are 28 to 34 weeks pregnant are eligible to participate in the programme, so that we have time to check, purchase, pack and distribute the packages before the baby is born.

Last year (winter 2022-2023), we supported 999 Ukrainian families with babies across the country, excluding the temporarily occupied territories. Among them, 35% were internally displaced persons and 55% were first-time mothers.

Make a charitable donation via the link on the Be Kind platform and join our goal: to support women who dare to give birth in Ukraine even during wartime and help keep newborn babies healthy!
